Bidding quiz
Ten hands. Make your call, then see what our AI does.
How it works
- A real spot. Your five cards, the up-card (or the one that was turned down), and where you sit relative to the dealer.
- Your call. Order up, go alone or pass; in the second round, name a suit or pass.
- The AI’s call, with the numbers. Every option was played out 3,000 times by our Euchre AI. You see how often each call makes it, sweeps or gets euchred, and what yours gives up in points per hand.
Common questions
How is the AI’s call decided?
Each hand was played out 3,000 times by our Euchre AI: every option you have, on the same random deals of the cards you can’t see. The call worth the most points on average is the AI’s — except that going alone has to beat playing with your partner by more than half a point a hand.
Why doesn’t it say my call was wrong?
Because bidding is judgment. The numbers show how each call tends to turn out; the AI’s call does best on average, but at a real table a close call can go either way, and your partner and opponents aren’t a simulation.
Does the score matter?
These hands assume the start of a game. Near the end the best call can change — a euchre that hands the other side the game costs more. The Should I Order Up? calculator lets you set the score.
Where do the hands come from?
Random deals, kept only when the best call is clear of the simulation’s noise, and balanced so that ordering up, going alone and passing all come up. Each round of ten starts with hands you haven’t seen.
