Go Alone
Definition
When the picker chooses not to call a partner and plays against all four opponents. The picker gets/loses all the points.
Go Alone in play
Going alone means declining a partner and taking on all four opponents by yourself, for all of the points - win or lose. It pays best with a powerhouse hand: roughly seven-plus strong trump, the top Queens, and buried point cards, so you can pull trump and never need help. The risk is that a single bad break leaves you with no partner to schmear or cover for you.
Example
βWith 7+ strong trump and buried Aces, going alone can be very profitable.β
