Picker

Definition

The player who took the blind. They're the "captain" of their team and score double points (win or lose).

Picker in play

The picker is the captain of the offense and the only player whose score is doubled, so their choices carry the most weight and the most risk. After taking the blind they set the plan: bury for points and voids, call the right Ace, and usually pull trump early to protect their fail Aces. Defenders orient their entire game around stopping the picker from reaching 61.
