Get61 has served the Sheepshead community well since 2017. It gave players across the country (and beyond) a place to find a table when their Friday night group couldn't meet. Many of us played our first online Sheepshead hand there.
We're not here to knock what Get61 built — we're fans. We just built a different take: AI opponents so you can play any time, a native mobile app, full hand replay, and a modern, ad-free table. Try both and play wherever you have the most fun.

Getting started takes less than a minute:
Play a local game first
Hit "Play Now" below and try a hand against AI. No account needed. This lets you get comfortable with the interface.
Set your rule preferences
Open Settings to choose Called Ace vs JD Partner, enable Blitz/Cracking, and set your preferred game speed.
Create an account for online play
When you are ready to play real opponents, create a free account. Pick a display name and you are on the leaderboard.
Add your friends
Share the site with your Get61 friends so you can find each other. The friends list makes it easy to play together.
Common Questions
How is PlaySheepshead different from Sheepshead Live?
Both are free alternatives to Get61. PlaySheepshead supports both Called Ace and Jack of Diamonds partner (Sheepshead Live is JD-partner focused), includes AI opponents so you can play any time without waiting for a table, has a native iOS and Android app in addition to the web version, and offers hand replay after every deal. Try both — we think most Get61 players will feel at home here.
Can I play 5-handed Call Ace online?
Yes. PlaySheepshead fully supports 5-handed Called Ace, including the hold card rule, unable-to-hold scenarios, and calling the 10 of a fail suit when all three fail aces are in the picker’s hand or blind.
Do you support doublers, schwanzers, and cracking?
Yes. Doublers (black queens/jacks in the blind), schwanzers, blitzes, the bump, and cracking (doubling by defenders before play) are all supported as configurable game options.
Is there a leaderboard and player rating?
Yes. Create a free account to track stats, see your rating, and appear on the global leaderboard. You can also play with no account at all against AI opponents.
Can I play with my Friday night group?
Yes. Create a free account, add your friends, and invite them to a private table. You’ll see each other online and get notified when a friend starts a game.
Can I transfer my Get61 stats or rating?
Unfortunately, no. Get61 stats live on their platform. But you'll build up your PlaySheepshead rating quickly through online games. Every game counts.
Is it really free?
Yes. All gameplay is free—local play, online multiplayer, AI games, the tutorial, everything. There's an optional premium tier that removes ads and adds cosmetic features, but it's completely optional.
Do I need to download anything?
No. PlaySheepshead works in any web browser at playsheepshead.org. There's also an optional mobile app if you prefer that experience.
How are the AI opponents?
They follow real Sheepshead strategy—counting points, tracking trump, identifying the partner. They're good enough to give experienced players a solid game and patient enough for beginners to learn from.
