Blitz
Definition
A variant where the picker can declare "Blitz" if they hold both black Queens (Q♣ and Q♠). This doubles the stakes like a crack.
Blitz in play
Blitz lets a picker holding both black Queens (the Queen of Clubs and Queen of Spades, the Ma's) announce them before play to double the stakes, much like a crack. It is a confidence bet: those two cards lock up the top of the trump hierarchy, but doubling the stakes also doubles your loss if the hand goes wrong. Some tables also recognize a red blitz for the two red Queens.
Example
“Also called "The Ma's" because the two black queens are the highest cards.”
